Who are we?Established in 1987 and affiliated to The Abbeyfield Society Ltd. since that date. Registered with the CQC as a Provider of personal care for 32 elderly residents aged 65 and above including those suffering from dementia. The Registered Manager is supported by a board of Trustees in the running of the home which caters for residents of either sex requiring personal services with a 24 hours per day service.
Hartland House is a not-for-profit organisation with charitable status. Any surplus funds are used to enhance the facilities and quality of life for our residents. We offer top-class facilities and services for those requiring residential care. Our charges cover all heating, electricity, food (including snacks), TV licence, council tax, events, emergency alarm call system, hair and foot care on a regular basis, toiletries and discreet care and support. We do not believe that our residents should compromise their standards in any way. |

The Board of trustees each bring something unique to Hartland House and ensure that it is running to the highest of standards that we have become known for.

All of the trustees commit their time, knowledge and expertise on a volunteer basis and meet 4 weekly with the Registered Manager.
Registered Manager
The home is overseen by Leanne Scrogham who has been working in health and social care for 21 years.
She is a highly skilled and passionate Care Manager who strives to maintain an excellent focus on her residents’ colleagues, administration, teamwork, and she has a tireless attention to detail to make sure everything is just right. This saw Leanne win the North West homecare Manager of the year 2018 and then in March 2019 was the winner of the National homecare Manager of the year 2019 at the Great British care awards. |
She also achieved the first outstanding rating with CQC in South Cumbria for a home care service before coming moving onto her next journey in her career with us at Hartland House.
Leanne has received her NVQ level 2 and 3 in Health and social care. In 2015 she achieved her level 5 in leadership for health and social care Adults Management. |
Our Staff
Within Abbeyfield (Lakeland Extra Care) Soc Ltd, we recognise that, in order to deliver a good care service, we need to recruit the right individuals. We base the recruitment of all our staff on several key principles; commitment, compassion and shared values being the main requirements. We expect our staff to be committed to providing the best possible care, they must be passionate about caring for others and be able to demonstrate that they share our values and ethos.
